In the northern province of Pangasinan, there is a town called Alaminos where you can go to see the so called Hundred Islands. They are real islands that are close to one another so it is convenient to take a boat ride for island-hopping. My last trip there was some years ago where we brought along food and rented a boat. In one island, we had a picnic with the barbecue plus other foods that we brought.

Now there are islands there with electricity and water supply, short of saying they were converted into resorts. From Manila, it is a 6-hour drive but it's worth the trip.
