Last year we had been to Kuala Lumpur. The hotel was great and the city has lots of sight. We took the HOHO bus, that hop-on/h0p off where the ticket is fixed price and you can take the bus all day long to see the more than 20 station stops.

In January, we have plane tickets for Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia. From what I gather, it is much different from Kuala Lumpur for it is more of a rural area. Do you have any idea what to see in Kota Kinabalu and what can a tourist do there?

Hi! Kota Kinabalu is certainly a major tourist attraction in Malaysia. Aside from the scenic destinations, there are lots of other places to explore here. A few examples would have to be man-made resorts and even huge shopping malls. There's definitely something for anyone who travels to Kota Kinabalu. Here's a few tourist destinations you guys might want to check out:
    • Trek Mount Kinabalu:
This is Borneo's tallest mountain and every year, tourist flock here to ascend the mountain. It's important to understand though that you need to be physically fit and strong to climb this mountain. No special skills are required to climb it but it can be a difficult climb. Within some areas, you would need to use guide ropes to pass through. The youngest climber has been recorded as aged 3 and the oldest was 80 years old. You can climb the mountain in four hours but many choose the two-day trek.
    • Tanjung Aru Beach:
As you can see, the Tanjung Aru Beach has white sand and blue water. But aside from that, you can also do lots of water sports like parasailing and snorkelling. Visitors also loved the sunset views here so make sure you capture that as well.
    • Go shopping in Oceanus Waterfront Mall:
This is the latest and trendiest mall in Kota Kinabalu right now. You can shop to your heart's content and at the same time, enjoy different cuisines.
    I hope this helps!
